Many people assume travel insurance is just for holidays abroad. However, this is simply not the case. Travel companies specialising in staycations and UK travel should advise their clients of this.
Consumers may still need to cancel their holidays due to illness, or an unexpected event. Also, if an element of their trip had been cancelled the consumers can claim their monies back through their travel insurance.
Obviously, health care is covered when a client is travelling in the UK through the NHS but apart from this it is still a holiday – travel insurance is always a good idea.
Daniel Landen, Managing Director of PTS, alongside other travel industry specialists, discussed this with The Guardian newspaper.
