Why Should Travel Companies Provide Consumer Protection?

  1. When selling to UK consumers, all travel businesses are required to comply with the package travel regulations. As a result, all tour operators and travel agents are legally required to provide consumer protection.
  2. Both UK and international travel must be covered.
  3. Ground-based travel and bookings without flights must also be package travel regulation compliant. If you are providing bookings with flights, you must also be ATOL protected. PTS is an ATOL franchisee and can provide our members with an ATOL where required.
  4. Travel bookings are considered a high ticket item, and as such, all consumers should be aware of the protection in place when booking.
  5. Preventing fraud and ensuring consumer protection in travel is of the utmost importance.
