So many travel business’ feel that in order to succeed, they have to give up their independence, but R. G. Travel is all the evidence you need that your business can succeed completely independently.

Who Are R. G. Travel?

R. G. Travel is a long-standing business and member of PTS, having found and joined as a member in late December 2018. It was founded and is still run by Rachel Deegan, who’s goal was to provide personal and luxury travel experiences for her customers.

R. G. Travel is a luxury travel agency Rachel founded to provide a really personal, high-end service. It specialises in bespoke, worldwide experiences, everything from family villas in Greece to African safaris. The focus is always on hand-picking the best suppliers and hotels to make sure clients get top-tier quality and a personal touch.

Why Did R. G. Travel Start Looking For Support?

“I was looking for a model that would give me the ability to run my business as my own, not part of a consortium or franchise,” Rachel said, “I wanted to gain the full amount of profit, not just a share of it! In addition, I was looking for a way to give my clients complete peace of mind. Financial protection is huge in this industry, and I wanted a system that offered total transparency so my clients would know their money was safe from the moment they booked.”

Securing client confidence and giving clients peace of mind was at the top of the list of support that Rachel wanted, but she was very aware that most consortia in the UK travel industry didn’t provide that without limitations or taking commission.

“As an independent agent, navigating the world of bonding and financial protection can be a bit of a minefield! PTS made that side of things so much simpler with the trust account model, which allowed me to focus on the travel planning rather than getting bogged down in complex red tape,” Rachel said, “Plus, PTS constantly reminds you that this is your business and I keep 100% commission.”

Why Did They Choose PTS?

Rachel initially struggled to find a model that didn’t come with a lot of restrictions, and ‘not having full control’ was a big concern. “PTS gives constantly reminds you that it’s your business,” she said, “which is almost alien when I’ve previously been in a position where you are constantly asking permission for every element i.e which suppliers you can use or has this supplier been paid? With PTS you have full control.

Keeping 100% of the commission (rather than sharing it with a franchise) has obviously been a major win for the bottom line, allowing me to reinvest and grow the business year on year since 2018 and in addition, the system is so flexible that it lets me run things my way, meaning I can spend more time on the personal touch for my clients.”

Having the independence to run her business her way while also saving time that she can spend focused on her clients has been a vital compotent to how fast R. G. Travel was able to grow.
