After almost 2 years of the pandemic without letting in visitors, we’re excited to see Fiji opening to travellers from December 1st, and we’re not the only ones who are excited for this awesome news.

Faiyaz Koya, the Minister of Tourism in Fiji, said, “It’s been almost two years since we welcomed international visitors. And in these two years, we’ve struggled, we’ve adapted and we’ve prepared.

“Today, our national airline is ready, our hotels and tour providers are ready, and Fijians are ready to safely welcome the world back. We are ready to let happiness find you again.”

As one of Fiji’s green list countries, this means vaccinated UK travellers can now get excited to book some excellent holidays ready for December. Fiji is also on the Rest of the World list for UK travel, meaning vaccinated travellers will only need to do a day-2 lateral flow test on return.

We always recommend checking the Foreign Travel Advice page for entry requirement updates. Entry requirements for December 1st are simple for UK travellers, as follows:

  • Travellers must be fully vaccinated
  • Travellers need to provide a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before travel
  • Unvaccinated children under 18 need to travel with a vaccinated adult

With 80% of eligible people in Fiji vaccinated and certified resorts with fully vaccinated staff, Fiji is a great new winter sun destination to become available to vaccinated UK travellers as 2022 approaches and the world opens up to us.

The tourism industry in Fiji is excited as is the travel industry in the UK, this is another great step for travel during Covid and will give a boost to the industry as travel businesses can continue to make some new awesome holidays for UK travellers to enjoy.

So, if you’re looking forward to Fiji opening to travellers, don’t forget to check out the Fiji Tourism Board and contact a travel business registered with PTS offering complete financial protection through trust.
