In an announcement last week, it was reported that Singapore will drop its final Covid-related entry restrictions for unvaccinated international travellers.

Following rising concerns in 2022 surrounding the number of Covid cases and hospitalisations, Singapore released good news last week stating that the health situation in the country has ‘stabilised’. This means that the number of cases has decreased to a manageable level and is remaining at or below that level consistently based on the country’s reports of this year so far.

It was revealed that the drop of the final Covid-related entry rules will be removed on Monday the 13th of February, in time for some great Easter getaways to the destination (you can check out and stay up to date on the current travel restrictions for your chosen destination on the Foreign Travel Advice page where updates are added live).

According to the Singapore government, international travellers who are not fully vaccinated that enter the country will no longer be under obligation to provide proof of a negative Covid test taken pre-departure from the 13th of February. This means that both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers will be able to enter the country without taking a test beforehand.

The destination has also dropped the requirement for travellers that are not fully vaccinated to purchase Covid travel insurance in order to enter Singapore. The requirement for travellers to wear masks or face coverings on public transport will also be removed, however, when in healthcare and residential care settings a mask will still be mandatory.

The reports state that this news comes as a result of the number of hospitalisations in Singapore as a result of Covid. The levels for 2023 have, thus far, remained low with the population of Singapore developing a “high level of immunity from severe Covid-19” that gives confidence towards the drop of restrictions.
