Local media sources have reported that Cyprus will remove entry restrictions for travellers beginning next month. This comes after an announcement from the Transport Ministry.

From tomorrow, Wednesday the 1st of June, 2022, Cyprus will remove entry restrictions for all travellers. This includes vaccinated, unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and recovered travellers alike.

This announcement comes from the Transport Ministry shortly after a previous announcement in April when Cyprus removed their Covid pass system and reduced their entry restrictions. In anticipation for the thriving summer season ahead, this extra announcement comes as great news for many travellers and travel businesses.

When Cyprus remove entry restrictions on the 1st of June, this will mean that all visitors to Cyprus will be allowed entry without any Covid related restrictions, no matter their vaccination status.

Travellers from all over the world will no longer need to provide a valid vaccination certificate, recovery certificate, or give proof of a negative PCR or antigen test taken pre-departure.

The Transport Minister, Yiannis Karousos, explained that this decision was made in order to help Cyprus return to a sense of normality, with the Covid risks much lower than in the past years.

The decision is still being made as to updated face coverings requirements, with Cypriot authorities contemplating whether airport terminals will still be viewed as a ‘high risk’ location.

This information has not been updated on the Foreign Travel Advice page yet, but is expected to be up to date shortly, so keep an eye on the page for more detail on face-covering requirements for Cyprus.
