So here it is, our 2021 Merry Christmas time! Though the Christmas’s of last year, this year, and the next few years may look odd and uncertain, it’s still a favourite time of year for so many, and especially for lots of travellers. Whether you love a chilly, winter wonderland, or you’re looking to celebrate Christmas summertime style, some of the best places to visit for Christmas in the coming years are probably already on your bucket list. 

From the winter sun of destinations like the Caribbean, Mauritius, Hawaii, and Fiji to the snowy caps of Norway, Alaska, Canada, Iceland and more, Christmas time is one of the most popular times of year for some fantastic holidays.  

With the Christmas traveller’s excitement also come many awesome deals from some great travel businesses, plus unique new packages for the holiday season. If you’re thinking of escaping the British chill for some winter sunshine next Christmas, there are some fabulous destinations all around the world that are perfect for catching the winter sun.  

A lot of these are lovely island paradise destinations, from Hawaii in the US to Seychelles in East Africa and The Canary Islands in Europe. No matter what corner of the world you want to visit, there’s some winter sun waiting for you.  

Hawaii is a delightful place to visit at Christmas time, with so much character exuded from each individual island’s life, lovely creatures to see, relaxing beaches to visit, and a peaceful atmosphere that isn’t too busy when you want to get out with the family.  

The Canary Islands are also fantastic, bringing you the spirit of Spain and their own flavours at a good price and with no-nonsense booking. If you want an easy to book holiday with lots of activities to explore and some excellent accommodation, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and La Palma are fantastic islands to visit for your Christmas holiday.  

If you’re looking for some accessible holidays to experience a mix of fascinating cultures around Christmas time, there are also great places in the Middle East such as Egypt, or you can find a wonderful blend of cultures in Morrocco with all the accessibility of hotels, markets, and towns for a great mixed family holiday.  

We could go on for hours listing some of the wonderful destinations that you could book up around Christmas time, with the plentiful sunny spots you can find, and some fantastic travel businesses will already be setting up some great packages for these lovely spots.  

A Classic Winter Wonderland Christmas

If you’re a big fan of the classic winter wonderland, white Christmas atmosphere, then some of the best places to visit for Christmas next year have to be in the Scandinavian countries. From Iceland to Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden, and other northern snowy places like Canada and Alaska.  

If you’re looking to sink into the Christmas traditions and celebrations of other cultures, Scandinavia is the Christmas holiday for you. In Iceland specifically, there are Christmas markets aplenty, snow to spare, and magic in the air. The Northern Lights are also a magical phenomenon shared among a few of these destinations, so if you’re into a more familiar culture then Canada or Alaska may be the spots for you. Both plentiful in the snow department, providing cities and rural, peaceful spots alike. Canada especially provides some fantastic Christmas celebrations in the cities and festivities galore.  

And of course, we can’t forget about the homes to the home of Santa Claus himself, with Finland, Sweden, and Norway all surrounding the fantastic Lapland. If you want snow, reindeer, Santa, and natural splendour, there’s nowhere else but Lapland to go. Wrap yourself up in Christmas, and curl up by the fire, though, because snow in Lapland is practically infinite.  

Christmas isn’t just a day anymore, this is one of the most beloved times of the year for travellers and non-travellers alike, and wherever you choose to celebrate, planning your Christmas is exciting. Whether you want to escape the cold or bathe in it, it’s never too early to book up some great Christmas trips for the coming years, whatever they may bring.
