All the new travel requirements can seem very daunting. With so many different sources reporting on them, and so many different places and prices for PCR tests and different bits of PCR test advice, consumers can easily get anxious about what provider they should be using, when they should be booking tests, and how expensive the tests are.

However, despite all the sensationalism in the media, booking your PCR tests for your holiday abroad is actually very simple. As long as you are booking your holiday with a trusted agent and member of Protected Trust Services (PTS), making your bookings in 2021 will be as stress-free as possible.

What PCR Tests Do I Need?

Depending on if you’re travelling to a green or amber list country, you will need a different set of tests, as shown below:

PCR Test Advice

It is quite as simple as having an extra test for amber list destinations. You might also take into consideration if you want to book a Day-5 test to release test as well for amber list destinations. However, those are all the tests you will need when you travel in 2021.

What PCR Test Provider Should I Book With?

This is where some consumers can feel overwhelmed. With so many options at so many prices, it could be daunting to have to choose. This is where your expert PTS member comes in.

At Protected Trust Services (PTS), we recommend to our members Qured for their consumers to book PCR tests. This is because you are getting the tests directly from the laboratory, and Qured have built a good reputation of late.

This means they may not be the cheapest, but when it comes to matters of your health and peace of mind, it’s worth investing a little more to get tests directly from the lab.

However, there are many other trusted test providers that work straight from the lab as well. Our wonderful members have the freedom to recommend to you whichever trusted company they feel is best for their consumers.

This is why booking with a trusted travel agent is so important. If you’re in a bit of a twist and are unsure what test provider to book your PCR tests with, or need PCR test advice for travel, all you need to do is get in contact with your experienced PTS member and they can recommend to you a test provider they trust.

What Should I Look for in A Test Provider?

If you want to check out a few test providers and ensure they’re the right choice for your holiday, here are a few key features to keep in mind:

  • The Price – Going for the cheap option can feel tempting, PCR tests aren’t all that cheap, but this is a case where it’s a good idea to invest more money.
  • The Source – Check where you are getting the tests from. It’s better if the provider is working straight from the lab, you’ll also find that this will coincide with a slightly higher price.

Though PCR test booking can seem overwhelming and complicated, when you book with a trusted travel agent and PTS member, you’ll find it’s quite simple.

If you want to learn more about how PTS and our members protect you on holiday, you can check out our consumer protection page.
