All travel businesses that sell holidays including flights must have an Air Travel Organiser’s License (ATOL). Some flight-only sales will also require the business to be an ATOL holder.
The travel organiser would have a responsibility to provide an ATOL certificate to their consumers alongside other required information, before, during, and after the package sale as evidence of their legal ability to sell flight packages.
Alongside being approved by the CAA, who organised the ATOL scheme, PTS and our members are fully Package Travel Regulations compliant.
You can work through a PTS provided franchise ATOL for up to 1,000 flights or £1,000,000 turnover per annum. Or you can apply for the franchise ATOL to cover 1,001+ flight or more than £1,000,000 turnover per annum.
If you intend to sell more or have a greater turnover, then you need to apply for an independent ATOL. PTS will provide professional support to assist you in applying for this.
